Representatives of Palestinian non-governmental organizations stressed the need to draw lessons from the results of the UN vote on the US-drafted resolution condemning the Palestinian resistance, last Thursday.
They stated that the Palestinian cause takes a dangerous turn that threatens the national project in light of the continued political internal division and the international marginalization of the Palestinian cause.
The NGOs representatives stressed the need to strengthen the role of official and public Palestinian diplomacy in communicating at all levels and embark on an intensive political action to activate the international support and build alliances to counter the challenges facing the Palestinian cause which is basically the cause of justice and human rights.
They said that the continued political division impacts the international support and dissipates efforts in the face of the Israeli occupation and the US administration and its support for the occupation.
They called on all the Palestinian parties to consider their discourse and behavior and ensure compliance with the developments on the international scene and conformity with resolutions of international legitimacy, international law and International Humanitarian Law (IHL).
This came during a round-table discussion organized on Thursday by the Palestinian Non-Governmental Organizations Network (PNGO) entitled with “The implications of UN vote on the US-drafted resolution”, which is part of the project activities “Enhance Civil Society Capacity to Work for Democratic Independence” in Partnership with Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA).
